The Blind Blogger......unmasked!
Updated: Mar 25, 2019
Ok, I have voiceover so I know that should say Blind Spot Blog UK, let me introduce myself. I am OllI the Blind Blogger.
I’m quite new to this blogging malarkey so I’m just going to start by telling you some of my experiences of being blind, but let me say that I just want everyone to know my approach to being blind, I don’t believe it defines me, it’s just a part of who I am.
I was registered as blind (Severe Sight Impaired) over 10 years ago and at first it was a struggle but then I eventually realised that I was still able to do so many things including gaining qualifications at an RNIB college, canoeing across a lake, driving a car down a runway, travelling to America on my own and more recently, jumping out of a plane at 10,000 ft during a tandem skydive for charity!
For me, losing my sight didn’t mean losing out, in fact it challenged me to find ways to do things that I now find more difficult. I have lots of helpful gadgets and apps to enable me to live my life as easily as possible. This is why I’ve set up this blog, to share ideas and my experiences along the way.
